Here comes the photo diary of Mao by the editors who followed her journey. This is an image of the first day where we transferred an airplane in Amsterdam, Netherlands. The girl next to Mao is Shiho, a captain of Adidas Runners.

In the second day morning, we’d checked the venue with a little warmup. “DANKE!”

It was sunny but a bit cold. The temperature was about 10°C and some local people were even wearing down coats.

Sidewalks at a boulevard are so wide!

With full of nature. What a relaxing atmosphere.

A picture of an activity by AR that was held at the Runbase, #WSGCR (“WHO SAY GIRL CANNNOT RUN”). This activity was established to coach fundamentals of running and healthy meals to about 30 girls in ages from teenagers to twenties who have had no experience in running before.

The afternoon of the second day. There were these characters of Berlin Marathon when we went picking up our marathon number cloths at the EXPO center. The one in below is the main character, a weasel, named Fridolin.

Every runner must wear the wrist band till the day of the marathon.

Acquired the number cloth.

The bag is an evidence of the runner!

With the members we had run together.

The goal was the stadium of the 1936 Summer Olympics.

We run about 6km the day before of the marathon.

And, the day for the marathon was unfortunately raining. Still, we were ready at Brandenburg Gate with rain coats.

Preparing in front of the Reichstag building. Yet, Mao couldn’t take off Z.N.E. since it was super cold!

She was still wearing it, haha.

Holding a banana on chest for an energy supply.

Finally, it started! Still, we were waiting for quite a while since 40,000 runners participated. Big party.

Ready, set, go! Everyone took off their rain coats, but we still couldn’t haha.

Only Asians with rain coats…

Eventually, we warmed up pretty well. By the way, people run so close to each other!

Running by our own pace.

It was like a small Olympics since runners were from all over the world.

Graphic artworks make our run more pleasant.

Passing through the Spree River.

A theater at the east end.

Cheerleaders backing up our run.

Loved the coloring of the two unicorn cosplayers.

Cute local children cheering us up.

High fives too!

Most parts of the course were constant in altitudes, but here is an impressive view of a downhill.

Berlin is comprised of many rivers where there are superb views everywhere.

Mao safely completed her second full marathon. Great job and congrats, Mao!
