In the year 2017, one actor was in the marvelous spotlight and caught great attention from the movie industry
– Kaito Yoshimura. As Yoshimura started his career in 2014,
he immediately appeared in movies such as “PORTRAIT” and “Inioi no suru Eiga
(‘A Movie that Smells Good’ in Japanese)”as the main role.
With Yoshimura’s unique style and appreciative strong presence,
not only the movie industry but also the fashion industry cannot take an eye off of him.
More and more people are familiar with the name „Kaito Yoshimura”, but what is Yoshimura actually have in mind now?
We asked Yoshimura about his moment in life by reflecting his three-year career.

It has been three years after you started your career as an actor – how was those years for you?: To be honest, nothing has changed much. I still feel I’m incomplete with my acting skills, but one thing I could say is that I do realize how so many people recognize me now. It sometimes gives me an awkward feeling how different the image that people think about me and the “real” me is.
What do you mean that the image is different?: What I wanted to say is, Kaito Yoshimura that the people think is not the same as the real me. I feel like I need to give back more to people and pressure myself to do so, which sometimes makes me disappointed. But when I stand in front of the camera, I’m eventually alone - turns to be that I have to figure everything out on my own. To be more self, I try to say whatever I want to say or what is on my mind.
Do you have an example from your experience?: For example, I tell the director or the stylist how I want to have my hair or my outfits on the day we shoot, to prevent from not looking bad. No one wants to look bad in magazines, websites or televisions, right? Even though the directions or the fashion outfit looks great in general, people will find it cool as long as I think it is cool. I shouldn’t rely too much on staff members, which means I have to be responsible enough for myself as an actor. If I have to choose whether I would collect hatred or being thought as non-cool person from the public, I would definitely choose the former. Well, if you start thinking about it, it does drive me crazy though(!).
What do you expect in your up-coming three years?: I told to one interview, which was in the beginning of this year, that I want to find a position that could only been done by me. I tried new things, like working with young actors like me or participating to events, but at the end I couldn’t find a place that I could be as “Kaito Yoshimura”. Now it is the time to create this position that I couldn’t find – if you can’t find it, why not making one? It may take quite a long time, but I do want to complete building up my position in this industry within three years.
