Journal Standard Taipei – the store which was opened last autumn
in Taiwan’s hottest area, Fujin Street.
We visited the shop in order to join the press review
in this mid-April with Sayo Yoshida, a Japanese model.
We’ll report the photo-diaries of the entire event-day
where she was interviewed by a lot of Taiwanese medias,
taking pics together with the other influencers, and was even playing DJ in the store!
Today, the temperature in Taiwan is 33 degrees Celsius! How typical of the country which is located in southern Okinawa. We’ll be going along the boulevard.
Taking a taxi for just 10 mins from Taipei Songshan Airport, we already arrived the store! Fujin Street in Taiwan resembles Kiyosumi-Shirakawa, the developing hot area for subcultures in Tokyo. Compared to the other areas in Taiwan such as Ximending, the area for youth, or Xinyi, the luxury district, Fujin Street is completely disparate, cool, yet comfortable.
Here is our main guest, Sayo!

The vintage alphabets & numbers. That’s actually the address of the store.
Wow, J.S.FOODIES coming from Japan for the catering!
The local staffs in the shop are capable of using Japanese too! Only for the easy chats though.
“Tokyo Burger”, a burger with minced meat cutlet, was the most thriving dish of the day.
Sayo, surrounded by a lot of Tawainese fashion medias.
Even a doggy came here for.
The interview started. From major medias to stylists and to influencers, various types of people were gathered!
This is a super rare item in which Mami, the calligrapher, directly signed on the skateboard-shaped flower base from SEE SEE. Exclusively limited in Taiwan.
The chairs weren’t enough, hence the plentiful standing galleries.
Now, it’s time for the Q&A.
Questions are overwhelming such as what’s the points of today’s outfit or what kind of item catches your eyes recently, and so on…
The Taiwanese Souvenir jacket.
Mass of souvenir jackets at the pop-up corner in the store.
The interior is just like a warehouse with full of vintage furniture.
Also, carrying plentiful new items from Japanese domestic brands.
Street fashion seems to be popular in Taiwan as well.
Of course, there is men’s stuffs too.
As it’s the Spring-Summer press review, everyone seems so serious about shopping!
The music video of Nulbarich, where Sayo also performed, appears to be trendy here in Taiwan as well.
Japanese staffs are also working in the store.
Mixed-style is flourishing here as well as in Japan.
The puppy loves the ambience too!
The Taipei store’s exclusive gift bags that are given to the visitors. Great vinyl quality with the special design.
Covered by the luxurious dress with the striped-shirt for the second interview of the day.

A lot of black-haired beauties. What a wonderful place.
Paparazzi-ed the pretty tattoo.
Sayo taking polaroid pics with her fans.
Night goes on. Many Taiwanese young adults started gathering at the store.
The DJ kit is ready for the night.
Taiwanese beauties began gathering as well.
The Calligrapher Mami is here too, where she also had her private exhibition in Taiwan!
DJ COOKIE, the popular Taiwanese DJ, is heating up the floor.
Finally, it’s time for DJ Sayo!
Wow, audiences are even standing outside of the store.
Everyone revels in the night with alcohols in their hands.
The event ended successfully. In Taiwan, the pro-Japanese nation, there are innumerable fans of Japanese brands and models, and some of the big devotees stayed with us for the whole event from 3pm to 9pm. The food is delicious, the weather is warm, and people are kind. What a wonderful country it is. If you are planning to go to Taiwan, you’d better check out JOURNAL STANDARD TAIPEI for sure!
